When Is Vikings Starting Up Again

Vikings: Valhalla, an offshoot of the pop History Aqueduct show, is landing on Netflix this month (Feb 2022).

Set up 100 years afterwards the finale of the original series, Vikings: Valhalla revolves around legendary explorer Leif Eriksson (Sam Corlett), his sister Freydis Eriksdotter (Frida Gustavsson), and Nordic prince Harald Sigurdsson (Leo Suter).

And judging by the new, final trailer that has dropped (read more on this beneath), the new series features plenty of blood and gore, epic rain and mud activity, and fur-lined garments galore.

Talking most how the prove'south creator, Michael Hirst, wanted the Netflix spinoff to feel nostalgic, showrunner Jeb Stuart explained to Polygon: "I [knew] what he meant immediately.

"The goal of the show is that, as we move from season to flavor, there's parts of it nosotros're going to accept to give up," he added. Set up 100 years after the events of the original show, Netflix says the series is gear up to follow the "most famous Vikings who e'er lived." Characters will include legendary figure Leif Erikson as well as Freydis, Harald Harada and Norman King William the Conqueror, who volition all "bonfire new paths equally they fight for survival in an ever-irresolute and evolving Europe."

Volition Vikings: Valhalla feature characters from the original series?

Given that the show is taking identify a century after the events of the original, you'd be forgiven for imagining there won't be much in the way of crossover between the two serial.

But speaking to Entertainment This evening, Michael Hirst teased that we could see some familiar faces. He said that the bear witness was, "leading upwards to 1066 and the invasion of England by a descendant of Rollo - and so you may well see the odd familiar face." Intriguing…
